The Will Writing Company wear RED and bake cakes to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
It is estimated that 435 people lose their lives to cardiovascular disease each day. Of these, more than 110 people will be younger than 75. The British Heart Foundation is a cause close to the hearts of us at The Will Writing Company and for the last 3 years, our office based staff and consultants across the country wear RED and support Wear It. Beat It. to raise vital funds for the charity.
On Friday 9th June, our Head Office Team in Nottingham were all wearing their favourite RED outfits and put their baking skills to the test. They hosted a cake sale and invited neighbouring companies to join in and support their efforts. It’s safe to say they like their cakes as the team raised an incREDible £175.65 from cake sales alone!
Throughout the week, in an attempt to extend our fundraising efforts, our Sales, Marketing and Training Departments undertook some personal challenges alongside working, baking, seminars and meetings;
- Michelle Kemp, Assistant Commercial Director, cycled 50 miles
- Peter Burton, Education and Training Manager, ran 50 miles in 5 days – his personal best
- Kat Day, Branding and Communications Manager, swam 50 lengths of a local swimming pool each day, totalling 8,750 meters
- Nick Tasker, Sales Support, completed a series of mini challenges including press-ups, juggling for 5 minutes without dropping the balls and doing a random act of kindness.
The determination and commitment across the team to complete the challenges, bake cakes, wear RED and raise money for the British Heart Foundation has been superb. Overall, the Teams managed to raise a fantastic £435.65 (at last count) which is going towards life saving research. Thank you to all who supported our efforts.
